Bubble Watch / Bracket Watch - Big Ten Thriller Ohio State wins in Overtime

A big game just ended in Big Ten country which will have an impact on the Bubble Watch. Ohio State just defeated Purdue in overtime 80 to 77 in overtime. Ohio State came back to send the game into overtime erasing a three point Purdue lead at the half. Othela Hunter one of Ohio State's worst free-throw shooter hit two big shots and had a great defensive play to put Ohio State over the top in the overtime period. This win probably will not get Ohio State off of the bubble as they still need some help from the rest of the bubble teams and or a good showing in the Big Ten Tournament.

For Purdue the loss is a heartbreaker as it now must rely on Wisconsin losing one of its final two Big Ten games to win a share of the Big Ten title. The chances of a solid looking Wisconsin losing in the last two games is likely slim as they play Big Ten bottom dwellers Northwestern and Penn State to finish out the season. Purdue before today's loss looked to have a strong bid for a top 4 seed in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, however that also looks shaky.

Notes: Wisconsin is now alone in first place atop the Big Ten standing and a Big Ten Title would be coach Bo Ryan's 3 at Wisconsin. Earlier we named Bo Ryan as our National Coach of the Year for Wisconsin's terrific season after losing most of its offence last year to graduation.
