We are taking West Virginia off the Bubble Watch after there impressive 78 to 72 win over (15) Connecticut in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament. The fifth-seeded Mountaineers (25-7) will play top-seeded and ninth-ranked Georgetown in the semifinals Friday night. West Virginia was led in scoring by junior forward Joe Alexander who scored a career-high 34 points, Alexander is on a hot streak averaging 29.8 points over his last five games. With the West Virginia win the bubble just got smaller and teams who lost today such as Villanova and Dayton can not like there chances of getting into the NCAA Tournament.
