Tyler Hansbrough hits last second shot

Tyler Hansbrough hit a fadeaway shot at the buzzer and number one ranked North Carolina advoided the big upset defeating Virginia Tech 68 to 66. Virginia Tech led much of the game building an eight point lead in the first half, however the two teams finished tied at half time. In the second half again Virgina Tech built an eight point lead only to have UNC get back in the game with three minutes left, the two teams traded the lead from there with North Carolina winning in the end.

Hansbrough who is the favorite for the National Player of the Year award had 26 points and 9 rebounds in the win. The game was tight the whole way with the two teams being tied at the half. North Carolina will now move on to the finals of the ACC Conference Tournament. For North Carolina the win likely secures a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, with a loss UNC could have been looking at a number 2 seed as the top teams in the nation continue to advoid upsets in the conference tournaments.
