2009 NCAA Tournament
Jon Brockman - Washington
The Washington captain believes he finished playing in the Huskies first round game with a broken nose. For people who have never had a broken nose a physical player like this will be effected as he will loose some confidence to battle and you will feel the physical side effects no matter what you do.
Jim Calhoun - Connecticut
The Husky coach missed the game against Chattanooga because he wasn't feeling well. He underwent tests at the hospital, and his condition is currently not known. This could be a major development for a team with real Championship aspirations.
Levance Fields - Pittsburgh
He did not practice prior to Pitts last game against West Virginia because of his groin and back. He did however play 38 minutes in the loss to West Virginia, scoring 6 points. During the regular season the senior guard averaged 10.7 and 6.7 assists per game.
Ty Lawson - North Carolina
Has a jambed up right big toe, don't laugh this is a major detriment to the Tar Heel cause if it gives him to much problem. The junior guard averages 15.9 points per game and 6.5 assists per game. March Madness injury update Lawson not to play on Thursday.
Chester Frasier - Illinois
Has a hurt hand that is in cast and was operated on last Thursday after hurting it in practice. He did not play in the Big Ten Tournament however Illini coach Bruce Weber has indicated he could play against Western Kentucky. Chester is the defensive backbone of an Illini squad that relies on defense, he also averages the most minutes played on the team at 33.2 minutes per game.
March Madness injury update Fraiser likely will not play the first round game.
Dominic James - Marquette
Broke his bone in his left foot and will not play during the NCAA Tournament. This is a big loss to Maruette as it diminishes their strength as a team, dominance at the guard position.
Blake Griffin - Oklahoma
The sophmore is one of the very best players in the country and suffered a concusion on Feb. 21 and missed time afterward, since the injury Oklahoma has lost 4 of 6.

Can't for the life of me see why ANYONE except their mothers would watch NIT players. But, as the Romans might have intoned, "Why not? They're the best. Of the worst."
It is being reported that Lawson will not be playing on Thursday!
