San Diego State NIT"s Goliath? Moving On!

San Diego State feels they could be the NIT's UNC this year as they feel they were snubbed by the NCAA Tournament commitee. They did a good job of "Moving On" as they defeated their first round opponent Weber State by a score of 65-49. Senior forward Lorrenzo Wade had a double double, 20 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Aztecs to victory. San Diego State really had a fairly easy time with Weber State using a 22-4 run in the first half to roll on in to halftime with a 39-17 lead. San Diego State finished second in the Mountain West Conference this year and now has matched the school record for wins in a season with a 24-9 overall record.

My hope is that next year San Diego State can continue its building towards the NCAA Tournament and meet up in a match up with Michigan. For those of you who don't remember San Diego State coach Steve Fisher was the Fab 5's coach at Michigan and left the team due to major NCAA rule violations within the program that stripped the Fab 5's wins from the record books.
