March Madness 2010 Bracket:Top 25 Friday Game Recap

An unusual amount of exciting basketball this Friday, including a battle of a game.

  1. Number 4 West Virginia lost on the road in three overtimes to #23 Pitt by a score of 98-95. It was the third three overtime game in West Virginia's history and second for Pitt. This was the 5th straight home win for Pitt over the Mountaineers but likely by far the most memorable. West Virginia Da'Sean Butler 32 points and 11 rebounds for a double double in the loss. Pitt got 24 points each from guards Ashton Gibbs and Brad Wanamaker, Wanamaker also had a double double as he had 10 assists in the marathon of a game. West Virginia has now lost two straight and will have to drop in the March Madness 2010 bracket, the Big East is so tough as the Mountaineers are a really good team.
  2. Number 22 Cornell had their 8 game winning streak snapped as they lost 65-79 on the road to Pennsylvania. The game was close at the half with Pennsylvania with a 1 point lead but they had a huge second half led by junior forward Jack Eggleston's career high 24 points. Cornell is now a half game back in the Ivy League to Princeton, who they play at in their next game.

  1. Jamie Dixon is a great coach, no way he was letting his team go down in that one...that was the difference in the game i thought
