March Madness 2010 Bracket:Top 25 Wednesday Game Recap

  1. Number 4 Purdue at a huge road win at #12 Ohio State 60 to 57.  This was the ninth straight victory for the charging Boilermakers and their first win at Ohio State's Value City Arena ever. JaJuan Johnson led Purdue with 25 points and E'Twaun Moore added 15 points. The win gets Purdue to within one half game of conference leader Michigan State, Purdue has Illinois up next at home. We will be moving Purdue up to being a number 1 seed in our March Madness 2010 bracket as they have been playing very well down the stretch. 
  2. Number 6 Duke came from behind to beat Miami on the road 81 to 74. Duke used increased defensive intensity to overcome a 12 point deficit at the half for their fifth win in a row. Kyle Singler had a double double in the game with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Duke has Virginia Tech up next in a game they need to win to keep the conference lead.
  3. Number 7 Kansas State held off Nebraska at home 91 to 87. It was a little surprising this game was so close as Nebraska was coming off getting pounded by Texas with a 40 point loss. Dominique Sutton and Denis Clemente had 21 points each for the Wildcats. Kansas State plays at Oklahoma in their next game.
  4. Number 8 West Virginia stopped the loosing streak at two as they beat Providence 88-74 on the road. Devin Ebanks led the Mountaineers with 21 points and Wellington Smith had a double double with 16 points and 10 boards. WVU plays Seton Hall next at home.
  5. Number 13 Butler set a school record for consecutive wins as they beat Illinois Chicago 73-55 at home. The win also makes Butler the first team in Horizon League history to win 17 games and ties Murray State for the nations longest active winning streak.
  6. Number 14 BYU won big on the road against Colorado State 92-70. Junior guard Jimmer Fredette led BYU with a huge 36 point scoring effort, he averages 21 points per game. Jimmer also added 5 rebounds and 6 assists in an impressive performance. BYU is on the road at conference doormat Wyoming next.
  7. Surging number 15 New Mexico didn't have any problems at home against Wyoming 83-61. Darington Hobson had his 9th double double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. We are leaning towards having New Mexico the highest mid-major seed in our March Madness 2010 bracket.
  8. Number 17 Texas continues the free fall as they lost to Missouri 82-77 on the road. Texas will be playing Texas Tech on the road as they look to salvage the season.
  9. Number 19 Tennessee beat Georgia at home 69-60. Tennessee came out flat in this game and was down 5 at the break, prompting Bruce Pearl to make lineup changes that seemed to spark the team to victory. Third place Tennessee plays at South Carolina next.
  10. Number 20 Temple beat St. Bonaventure 73-55 on the road. Temple freshman guard Ramon Moore led the team with 18 points in the win.Temple plays at St. Joesephs next as they look to keep pace with conference leading Richmond.
