March Madness 2010 Bracket:Top 25 Sunday Game Recap

  1. Number 3 Purdue continued the theme of the weekend of top teams loosing as they went down at home 44-53 versus Michigan State.  Of course Purdue was really no longer the third best team in the country after they lost star Robbie Hummel for the season. The loss was the first for Purdue in 10 games and it wasn't hard to figure out how they lost as they shot only 30% from the field. Raymar Morgan had a double double for MSU with 16 points and 11 rebounds. MSU is now in a three way tie in the loss column with Purdue and Ohio State for first place in the Big Ten.
  2. Number 5 Duke rolled by Virginia on the road 67-49. Duke got big contributions from its go to guys as Singler had 21 and Scheyer had 20. Duke also played tough defense in the game holding Virginia to 31.4% shooting, although Virginia was without leading scorer Landseberg due to a thigh injury. Duke plays at Maryland next in a huge game with Duke leading Maryland by just one game for the ACC lead.
  3. Number 18 Temple got one step closer to an Atlantic 10 title as they beat La Salle 65-53. Temple also won the Big 5 Title going 4-0 against their city rivals. Juan Fernandez scored 23 points in the win and Lavoy Allan had a double double with 17 points and 21 rebounds.
  4. Number 24 Richmond got edged in double overtime 78-76 by Xavier on the road. Terrell Holloway scored 7 points in the second overtime to get Xavier into a first place tie with Temple, Holloway had 24 total points in the game. Richmond is now third in the conference with their next game at home against Dayton.
