For March Madness 2013 the Big Ten teams should be on your TV day after day as the NCAA Tournament progresses. The Big Ten got the 7 teams they expected to get into the tournament with Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota making the field. There were no surprises for the Big Ten on who got into the Big Dance or as far as seeding.
The Big 10 was widely regarded as the best conference in the country throughout the regular season and it showed up in the March Madness 2013 seeding. The only disappointment the Big Ten can have is that the teams beat each other up bad enough that only Indiana received a 1 seed. Ohio State came up with a 2 for beating Wisconsin for the Big Ten Tournament Title. MSU got a 3, Michigan a 4, UW a 5, Illinois a 7 and Minnesota a 11 not bad overall.
The Big Ten with what looks like the easiest field to advance through is MSU, followed by Wisconsin and Ohio State. It looks to us like Indiana ended up with a lot of tough potential opponents in their region once they get to the Sweet Sixteen.
All of the Big Ten teams seem pretty well split up throughout the field except Ohio State and Wisconsin which might have been nice to have in separate regions, however they can't meet until the Elite Eight so it could be worse.
